Stronger. With the highest strength to weight ratio of all known metals, titanium is in a class of its own. Capable of withstanding huge levels of mechanical and compressive stress, aerospikes are made from an enhanced titanium alloy which makes them significantly stronger than regular stainless steel.
Lighter. Much lighter. Precision engineered to exacting standards from aerospace grade titanium alloy, the structural strength of each unit allows for a uniquely designed internal stepped cavity system which makes aerospikes altogether more than three times lighter than regular steel spikes.
Streamlined. Aerospikes are designed with an optimised angular baseplate which flows with the spike allowing for more efficient penetration of the track all the way to the base of the shoe... a unique and dynamic design feature which gives aerospikes over ten percent more streamlined depth capability than regular spikes.
Long lasting. Unlike other lightweight spikes made from softer materials which can wear down and deform very quickly, aerospikes are extremely durable and hard wearing. Crafted from the same titanium alloy found in high stress aerospace applications where failure is not an option, aerospikes are also super treated with aerospace grade (AMS) 2488 type II titanium anodizing for extra toughness and abrasion resistance. Unique amongst other track and field spike systems, this enhanced surface treatment also provides aerospikes with their distinctive colour… aerospace grey.
