The spikes we wanted hadn’t been made yet... so we made them ourselves.

And that’s how it all started. Granted when we’re talking about spikes the margins are small, but then again so are milliseconds and millimetres and those can be pretty important too. This is especially true in competitive track and field athletics which is why (if you compete yourself) you may have tried some of the other lightweight spikes out there already. The weight saving advantages gained over the heavier steel spikes are clear, but the problem comes down to durability and lifespan… because they just don’t last anywhere near as long.

We started thinking that things could be different. Huge progress has been made creating the most scientifically advanced, super responsive and ultra-lightweight track shoes but the development of the actual spikes which go on the bottom and what makes these shoes ‘spikes’ had been left behind. We thought that spikes could be designed and made better. Precision engineered not only to be lighter than all the rest but harder wearing and more durable than even the standard steel variety, and for that we had to turn to one of natures strongest materials... titanium.

The metal of choice for critical aerospace components, titanium alloy is super strong, exceptionally light and combined with our unique internal stepped cavity design gave us the huge weight saving properties we were after. An optimised baseplate for more streamlined depth capability followed by a specialised aerospace grade surface treatment left us with something that we could only call the aerospike. Compare them to whatever spikes you’re using right now and you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.
